A new fresh animation showreel from 3D-artist Jonas Forsman.
Christmas Piggy is a seven minute family film musical about a pig trying to break free from his captivity from a starving family saving him for Christmas. It is set during the hard depression days in Copenhagen 1932 and Piggy is one of many animals waiting to be served. He eventually tries to escape – and bad turn to worse.
The film is a 3D animated film using a stylistic design and motion capture mixed with hand animated key frame animation due to have its premier at The National Film School of Denmark the 11 of June 2010 and later festivals and danish television. It is one of 4 animated film from the graduating class of animation directors, a 4,5 year program, directed towards animation and computer games. There are graduation every other year with six student in every class and the film is a collaboration between students from Viborg animation school, Denmark design school and true max academy, together with professionals animation industry.

The Uncanny Valley is a notion that states that if you make a robot that it up to 95 percent realistic, it’s fantastic. More realistic that that and it’s a disaster. That’s because a 96 percent lifelike robot is a human being with something wrong. Hollywood uses the concept when animating movies.
